Repatriation is when the death and/or burial takes place away from the home area of the deceased. Should you encounter this situation you only need to call your funeral director.

With more and more people travelling these days it is important to know that if death occurs outside your local area a repatriation will be needed if the deceased had wished to be laid to rest in their native country or state.

Many members of our community from other countries send their loved ones back to their homeland for burial. The funeral director administers and conveys all the necessary documentation and arrangements to complete the repatriation. This entails many hours of preparation, liaison with various Australian Government Departments as well as liaison with the Consulate General of their native homeland.
